Vacation to Grand Junction, Colorado --Part I

We went on a road trip for four days to Grand Junction, Colorado, this week.   It was good.
Near Powderhorn

We chose Grand Junction because it was only 5-6 hours from home, and because we'd never been there, and because we couldn't afford to fly anywhere.  It was a great choice.  There's a lot to see and do, and if you are willing to drive a little, there's even more to see and do.   We loved it.  It was a beautiful place.  We even found a fancy hotel that had rooms for $59 per night!  Nice pool, hot tub, big rooms --what a party!  We ate froot-loops in bed and watched "The Sing Off" on t.v.  Wahoo!  --- It does not take much to entertain us.  ;)

We had a great hike because they wouldn't allow babies on the lift up the mountain.

Great fall colors

I love thistles

There was so much yellow everywhere!

This is the park called Colorado National Monument

Kids' Quarry (walnut shell pieces hid the fossils)

The kids were searching for an ancestor in a Green River graveyard that we'd learned held some of DH's relatives.  We didn't
find the relative we were searching for, but we accidentally found others!

The kids all wanted to use CE's music earbuds, and they actually did a good job at sharing

Oh, yeah

When it rained, we went to Bananas, a "family fun" place where we played laser tag, mini golf, etc.

This graveyard was situated --smushed-- between a work yard and a field of horses.  We found it odd that in the middle of absolutely nowhere, with miles and miles and miles and miles of barren nothingness all around, they felt the need to sandwich that graveyard so tightly.  It was sort of funny.  And interesting.

This is taken at the Pioneer Village in Cedaredge, Colorado, where they had the annual Apple Fest (we tried the fresh pressed apple juice at "The Apple Shed" for lunch and it was the best you can imagine.

At the Cedaredge Pioneer Village, they had thousands of Native American arrowheads, and artifacts and dolls.

This is my favorite outfit on Baby H.  It says "Once Upon A Time" with a frog prince on his bum.  I keep making him wear it because he's about to grow out of it.

Best Italian Homemade Authentic EVER in downtown Grand Junction, at an outdoor cafe.  I mean, yum.  Calimari, fresh baked European bread, great entrees, and imported Italian table breadsticks and candies.  Too good.

Road Tripping!

I have tons of more photos but I have to go to bed now.  I'll add more when I can.  Hejda!!!!
