His, Mine, and Ours (actually, all ours)

D.H. (Dear Husband) We just had our 3rd anniversary. He is a kind, devoted, talented, loving soul who I cherish. Whenever I get upset at him for some reason, (PMS) I always regret it! He is practically perfect and I am not exaggerating. He makes the world around him laugh. He loves almost everyone. He can play the piano, paint, sing, dance, program computers, fix broken hearts, do flips on the trampoline, bike up rocky mountainsides, understand people (he's many people's unofficial psychologist), and he is not afraid to do the dishes. He's very thrifty. He's very soft and gentle inside; maybe because of tragedies-- he and his ex wife lost a toddler to a freak accident many years ago. He knows pain. He's been divorced twice. He judges no one. But he's wary of the bad guys: it was his idea not to put our full names here, in case of stalkers, etc. I love this man.
Mamma C - I'm born in Germany, raised by a Swedish mom, American dad, and spent childhood summers in Sweden. I'm a former 3rd grade teacher, high school English/drama teacher, college English adjunct professor, freelance news writer; also a former full-time missionary in Scotland; I'm very friendly, a little nervous, usually grateful, sometimes pushy; scatterbrained; into grammar and punctuation rules; in love with my family; a decent cook, a terrible laundry-folder, a reader. I also got a BA in English and an MA in Communications. I still can't tell my left from my right, most days, in the mirror.
A.R. - our eighteen year old - my husband's son who lives an hour away, and comes to visit but not often enough (we miss him) - (his) He's good at video games, cooking, taking care of people, hunting, camping; loves anything sharp and dangerous.
C.E. - our thirteen year old -(mine) She's creative, smart, impatient, adorable, funny, sweet, talented, strong willed; a good actress, composer, mimicker; a swimmer, runner, "eat it" game inventor; tender hearted with a streak of ruthless bossiness; has zero fear of thrill-rides; loves fruit; keeps a list of annoying words that includes "appropriate" and "jiffy"; can impersonate old ladies so hilariously that it makes me laugh to honking and tears; very loved.
S.E. -our eleven year old -my husband's daughter who lives out of state and comes to visit for Christmas, spring break, and summer. She's a sunbeam whenever she enters a room; content, good at ballet and sports; loud, almost always easygoing, organized; loves to clean out drawers and freezers at this age. She cries so hard at the airport whenever it's time to fly away from us and Utah, that she has to be physically moved to the airplane.
A.J. -our eight year old (mine). He's never happier than when he's running across the house and diving into a pile of couch cushions. He writes letters to the tooth fairy even when he hasn't lost teeth; he loves tape, scissors, and old cardboard/plastic/yarn/bubble wrap to turn into all kinds of things. He only requests things for birthdays/Christmas that either haven't been invented yet, are wildly expensive, or possess magic properties. He loves his baby brother deeply. He loves to stay home from school and play school with me. He would never shower if it were up to him. He tells jokes he's made up himself. He doesn't see the point of organized sports, although he's been on teams. He is a constant, incessant narrator and a snuggler-- very eager to love and to be loved.
Baby H. - four months old (ours). He is big, chubby, sweet, interactive, lovable; he's a chunk of butter and kisses and rolls of joy. He makes all blood-relatives. He smells yummy. He's 100% breast fed. He loves the bathtub and to bathe in the kitchen sink-- although he's technically too big for the sink now. He loves music-- when he cries in the car, if we sing to him, he stops, almost always. Favorite song: "Baby Beluga in the Deep Blue Sea".
