Laws cannot please everyone.
If future laws please homosexuals who desire legal marriage, will the taunts of exclusionary law-making end? What happens when an adult wants to marry a child or a human wants to marry a barnyard animal? Who is to say what's right or wrong if relgious morality is trashed?
Religious morality is not anything to be ashamed of. It has always been part of our United States history, our historic documents, and our foundational laws.
And here's another thought: will bishops and pastors be imprisoned or fined for refusing to perform legal marriages for homosexuals, pedophiles, or those who want to marry their pets? Where is the fairness in that?
The fact is, you can't be fair to everyone. Someone has to hold the upper hand. In America, that Someone has, for two successful centuries, been the Judeo-Christian God.
We should stick with the definition of marriage as being between a man and a woman.
