Post of the Day: Today we learned that a very kind and loved (and too young to pass on) cousin in Sweden has died. He died out of the blue, while napping; perfectly healthy he was. These are the times you really wish the countries were closer. None of us can afford a plane ticket to Sweden for the funeral. Simple things aren't possible: we can't bring comfort food for the family--homemade jam, funeral potatoes (Jansson's Frestelse in Swedish) or nice warm bread. We can't hug people from across the sea. We can call or write. Technology is nice, but really.
This cousin used to bring flowers to the graveyard where so many of our ancestors are nestled. He'd go there most holidays, for all of us who live too far away to do so. Now who will do it? We have fewer and fewer blood relations in Sweden-- it's sad.
